A rare Chamberlain Worcester child’s teapot, c. 1790. Both sides of the teapot with a shaped gilt panel containing the ‘Stag Hunt’ pattern, in Famille Rose enamels, after a Chinese porcelain original. As the title suggests, the scene depicts Chinese men with their hounds, hunting a stag, before buildings, trees & hills. The cover similarly decorated, & having a ball finial, decorated with a gilt star motif.
It is becoming increasingly difficult to find high quality miniature or children’s teawares, especially items produced in the 18th Century.
