Royal Worcester ‘Japanesque’ vase.

A fine and rare large Royal Worcester porcelain vase, dated 1878. Modelled in Japanesque style, as a square shaped vessel, with reticulate do panels of insects, birds, and butterflies amongst flowering plants of prunus, bamboo and pine – the ‘Three Friends of Winter’ in Japanese culture. Standing upon four gilt bracket feet. The top containing twelve square moulded tubes, for displaying flowers.
Printed factory mark, and date code for 1878.
